15th PNHRS Call for Entries: Oral Research Paper Presentation and Research Poster Contest
the Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) is celebrating its 15th PNHRS Week on 08-12 August 2022 with the theme “Health Research: Responding to Challenges to National Recovery and Resiliency.” This year's activity will be a five-day hybrid event, comprised of both online (Zoom) and on-site (Clark, Pampanga) sessions One of the activities during the celebration is the Oral Research Paper Presentation and Research Poster Contest (Professional and Student Categories) of the completed health research projects conducted by the member institutions of all the Regional Health Research and Development Consortia. In light of this, we are now accepting research entries for the aforementioned competitions. Entries for each category that will pass the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development’s initial screening will be presented during the event. We will be attaching here the guidelines for your reference.
Deadline of Submission will be on June 27, 2022
GUIDELINES FOR THE ORAL RESEARCH PAPER PRESENTATION AND RESEARCH POSTER CONTEST
(Professional and Student Category)
A. Qualifications
1. Professional Category
o A health research project completed within the last 3 years, but not
featured in the previous Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) fora.
o A health research paper authored by a researcher from Regional Health
Research and Development Consortium (RHRDC) member institutions
and funded by the PNHRS core agencies (Department of Science and
Technology-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development
(DOST-PCHRD), Department of Health, Commission on Higher
Education, and University of the Philippines Manila) and/or other local
and international funding institutions.
2. Student Category
o An undergraduate thesis on health or health-related fields conducted
within the last 2 years, but not featured in the previous PNHRS fora.
o A health research project conducted by a member or non-member
institution of the consortia.
B. Documentary Requirements
1. For the Oral Research Paper Presentation:
o Electronic copy of the completed research paper in publishable form.
For the Research Poster Contest:
o Electronic copy of the research poster and its research abstract.
o Maximum of three (3) research poster entries may be submitted per
consortium. However, only one (1) research poster entry may be
qualified for presentation.
2. Endorsement form signed by the Consortium Chair.
3. Applicable research authorization/clearance/permit:
o Ethics clearance (from Philippine Health Research Ethics Board
Accredited Research Ethics Committee)
o National Commission on Indigenous People Free and Prior Informed
Consent
o Bureau of Animal Industry Animal Research Permit
o Department of Environment and National Resources Gratuitous Permit
o Biosafety clearance

To further increase the capability of Bicolano researchers and disseminate information on emerging methods and other technical skills in conducting health research, BCHRD will sponsor a webinar series covering relevant research topics and we would like to know your insights on this matter by answering the following form:

The 2022 DOST-PCHRD Undergraduate Thesis Grant in Natural Products aims to sustain a research culture in natural products to increase the number of research and later on build a pool of researchers/experts specializing in the field. It supports the Tuklas Lunas program (Drug Discovery and Development Program) of the DOST-PCHRD, which aims to develop safe, effective, and affordable alternative drugs from the country’s natural resources.
The search is open to all undergraduate students of Colleges of Pharmacy, Chemistry, Nursing, and Health and Allied Sciences who have thesis proposals on natural products, specifically utilizing indigenous plants in the region. A thesis grant amounting to fifty thousand pesos (PHP 50,000.00) will be given to two (2) qualified thesis proposals per region.
